Andrea Serio è nato a Carrara nel 1973; ha conseguito il Diploma di Laurea in Illustrazione presso lo I.E.D. di Torino.
Illustratore, pastellista, fumettista, copertinista, locandinista, all’occorrenza pittore, i suoi disegni sono stati esposti in importanti manifestazioni nazionali e internazionali.
Nel 2011 ha pubblicato in Italia e Francia il suo primo graphic-novel Nausicaa – L’altra Odissea (storia e testi di Bepi Vigna), riproposto nel 2018, in una nuova edizione, dall'editore Kleiner Flug.
Dal libro è stato tratto l'omonimo cortometraggio animato, che ha aperto la Settimana della Critica alla 74ma Mostra del Cinema di Venezia e si è aggiudicato il Green Drop Award (premio collaterale della Mostra che viene assegnato al film che meglio interpreta i valori dell’ecologia e dello sviluppo sostenibile tra quelli in concorso), oltreché una menzione di interesse da parte del Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo - Direzione Cinema.
Nel 2017 ha realizzato En plein air , il suo primo libro per bambini, con l'editore Topipittori.
Nello stesso anno gli è stata dedicata una esposizione personale presso la Galerie Glénat di Parigi.
Nel 2018 è uscito l'artbook Seriously (Spaceman Project Editions), antologia dei lavori più rappresentativi di quasi vent'anni di attività.
Attualmente è al lavoro sul suo nuovo libro a fumetti per le Edizioni Oblomov .
Dal 2012 è docente della Scuola Internazionale di Comics, presso le sedi di Torino e Firenze.

Andrea Serio was born in 1973 in Carrara, Italy.
He attended the public school of art of his hometown, afterwards the Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin, where after a three-years course he graduated in illustration.
Fluctuating illustrator, cartoonist, painter if necessary, since twenty years devoted to pastels and coloured pencils, his drawings have been exposed during main national and international events.
In 2011 has been published in Italy and France his first graphic novel, Nausicaa – L’altra Odissea (Nausicaa – The Other Odyssey), a collaboration with the famous Italian scriptwriter Bepi Vigna. In 2018, Nausicaa has been republished, in an enhanced version, by Kleiner Flug editions.
The book has been adapted into the homonymous short-film, selected to open the International Critics' Week during the 74th Venice International Film Festival and to win the Green Drop Award (a special prize awarded by Green Cross Italy to films that bring attention to the values of ecology and sustainable development), receiving as well a mention by the italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
In 2017, he realized En plein air , his first children's book, for Topipittori editions.
In the same year, Galerie Glénat in Paris organized a solo exhibition of his drawings and illustrations.
In 2018, the artbook Seriously , a compendium of almost twenty years of artworks, has been published by Spaceman Project editions.
He's currently working on his new graphic novel, with Oblomov Editions.
Since 2012 he is professor of the International School of Comics, at the offices of Turin and Florence.

Andrea Serio est né à Carrara, en Toscane, en 1973. Il a suivi ses études au Lycée Artistique d'Etat à Carrara, ensuite à l'Institut Européen de Design (IED) à Turin, où il a remporté la Maîtrise d'Illustration
Illustrateur fluctuant, pastelliste, dessinateur de bande dessinée, affiches, couvertures, disques, tarots, peintre à l'occasion, ses ouvrages ont été exposés au sein d'importants festivals nationaux et internationaux.
En 2011 il a publié en France et en Italie son premier roman graphique, Nausicaa - L'altra Odissea (Nausicaa - L'autre Odissée) – en collaboration avec le renommé scénariste de BD Bepi Vigna – qui a été reproposé en 2018, dans une version enrichie, par les éditions Kleiner Flug.
Le livre a aussi été adapté pour le cinéma sous la forme du court-métrage homonyme qui a ouvert la Semaine de la Critique au cours du 74ème Festival international du Film de Venise et qui a remporté le Green Drop Award (prix spécial attribué à l'oeuvre qui mieux répresente les valeurs de l'écologie et du développement durable), ainsi qu'une mention d'intérêt de la part du Ministère de la Culture italien.
En 2017 il a réalisé En plein air , son premier livre pour enfants, paru aux éditions Topipittori.
Dans la même année, la Galerie Glénat de Paris a organisé une exposition personnelle dédiée à son oeuvre.
En 2018 l'artbook Seriously, publié par les éditions Spaceman Project, a recueilli les images les plus représentatives de ses presque vingt ans d'activité artistique. Actuellement, il est au travail sur un nouveau roman graphique, qui sortira prochaînement aux Editions Oblomov (par les soins de Igort).
Depuis 2012, il est aussi enseignant à l'Ecole internationale de Comics de Turin et Florence.
